Job Overview:
The Director of Fundraising Data is a strategic leader and technical project manager responsible for overseeing the integrity, accessibility, and strategic application of fundraising data at Mercy Corps. This role is crucial in supporting informed decision-making, optimizing fundraising operations, and contributing to revenue growth. The Director will lead a significant CRM migration to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, ensuring that the system empowers fundraisers, enhances donor engagement, and streamlines operational workflows. This position requires a blend of technical fluency and a deep understanding of fundraising strategies, making it essential for translating strategic goals into operational solutions. The Director will collaborate with various departments, including Development, Marketing & Communications, IT, and Business Intelligence, to implement scalable systems and reporting tools that support the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Director of Fundraising Data include leading the strategic and technical execution of the CRM transition to Raiser’s Edge NXT, ensuring that the database remains optimized for gift processing and serves as the system of record for revenue and donor data. The Director will translate fundraising strategies into functional system designs, guide user onboarding and training, and coordinate with IT and vendors for implementation and long-term support. Additionally, the Director will deepen the fundraising data architecture, align CRM structures with KPIs, develop scalable architectures for predictive analytics, and document governance protocols to ensure data quality. The role also involves building a reporting strategy that supports data-driven decision-making, integrating engagement metrics, and promoting strong data governance. Furthermore, the Director will act as a bridge between Mercy Corps Global and Mercy Corps Europe, ensuring alignment in fundraising data systems and compliance with data protection standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Director of Fundraising Data position must possess a BA/S in computer or applied sciences or a related field. They should have at least 6 years of experience in database management, systems, reporting, and analysis. Experience in hiring, training, and supervising team members is essential, along with a proven track record of managing large CRMs and overseeing database migrations.
