Job Overview:
The External Relations position under the Carlo Schmid Fellowship is designed for individuals who are passionate about international relations and diplomacy. The fellow will be expected to engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector, to promote the mission and objectives of the fellowship program. The role involves representing the fellowship at conferences, workshops, and meetings, as well as developing communication strategies to enhance visibility and outreach. The fellow will also be responsible for drafting reports, proposals, and other documentation that supports the fellowship's initiatives. This position requires a proactive approach to networking and collaboration, as well as a strong understanding of global issues and the ability to communicate effectively across cultures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Carlo Schmid Fellowship at various international forums and events, engaging with stakeholders to promote the program's objectives.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the visibility of the fellowship and its initiatives.
  • Draft reports, proposals, and other documentation that support the fellowship's activities and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other fellows and staff members to organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Conduct research on relevant global issues and trends to inform the fellowship's strategies and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and private sector representatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of the fellowship's outreach efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences. A demonstrated interest in international relations, diplomacy, or related fields is essential. The ideal candidate should also have experience in public speaking, networking, and relationship-building. Proficiency in drafting professional documents and reports is required, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with social media and digital communication tools is a plus.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in international relations, political science, communications, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area is preferred. Candidates should have a strong academic background that demonstrates their commitment to understanding global issues and international cooperation.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in international organizations, NGOs, or governmental agencies.
