Job Overview:
The Field Manager position is a critical role within NRC's operations in Adamawa State, specifically in the Yola Field Office. This position is essential for leading the implementation of NRC's programs in the region, which is marked by significant humanitarian challenges due to ongoing conflict and displacement. The Field Manager will be responsible for providing strategic direction and ensuring operational excellence across various support functions, including logistics, finance, human resources, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. The role requires a compassionate leader with operational expertise who can navigate the complexities of fieldwork in Northeast Nigeria. The Field Manager will mentor and develop a passionate team, ensuring that NRC's core values of neutrality, independence, and accountability are upheld. This position is part of the Area Management Team and plays a vital role in the overall success of NRC's humanitarian response in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting assessments of new operational areas to identify potential intervention locations; developing strategies for program implementation; assisting in the creation of concept notes, project proposals, and budgets; maintaining regular communication with local authorities and humanitarian actors; representing NRC in coordination initiatives; contributing to advocacy efforts; ensuring the safety of staff through security risk assessments; overseeing the selection of enumerators and community-based workers; leading Construction Completion Verification Teams to assess project quality; supporting the Area Manager in staff training and capacity-building initiatives; ensuring that all staff complete their work and development plans; managing NRC's data collection systems; establishing spending plans and updating the master budget; and leading the closure and handover of NRC operational facilities in collaboration with the Area Management Team and Logistics Manager.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Field Manager position should possess a professional background with solid experience in support functions such as logistics, finance, and human resources, as well as office and program management. A minimum of eight years of experience in humanitarian leadership and operations management, particularly in conflict and post-conflict settings in Nigeria, is required. Experience in overseeing the implementation of multi-sectoral and integrated humanitarian programs is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate team leadership and capacity development experience, possess strong communication skills in English, and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Field Manager position includes a relevant degree in fields such as humanitarian studies, international relations, social sciences, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian response or management may be advantageous and are often preferred by employers in this sector.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of eight years in humanitarian leadership and operations management. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing support functions and humanitarian programs in insecure contexts, as well as experience in establishing relationships and coordinating with government and traditional leaders. Experience in leading change management programs in humanitarian action is also highly valued.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills relevant to the local context may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local communities and stakeholders.
