Job Overview:

The program aims to provide practical experience and exposure to the workings of an international organization. Interns are expected to assist in various functions related to procurement and logistics, providing support to the logistics unit in the Ankara office. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are either enrolled in their final academic year of a Bachelor's degree or have graduated within the last 12 months. Interns will gain valuable insights into the operational aspects of IOM, contributing to the organization's mission while developing their professional skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for several key tasks, including: following up on procurement and logistics-related documents to ensure necessary signatures are obtained; updating and managing the archiving system with proper labels; ensuring that all procurement files are accurately documented and systematically filed; preparing necessary procurement and logistics-related documents such as Purchase Requests (PRs) and Requests for Proposals (RfPs); ensuring that Goods Receipt Notes are acknowledged by the requisitioner upon receipt of services or goods; preparing payment documents and following up with the finance unit to ensure timely payments to vendors; and performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet several qualifications to be considered for the internship. They should be enrolled in the final academic year of a Bachelor's degree or have graduated within the last year in fields such as Social Sciences, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a relevant area. Alternatively, candidates may be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). Additionally, candidates should be between 20 and 36 years of age, demonstrating a commitment to the values and mission of IOM.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's degree program or having graduated within the last year. Relevant fields of study include Social Sciences, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related disciplines. Candidates who are enrolled in a graduate program are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the age and other criteria outlined in the job description.

Experience:
While specific prior work experience is not mandatory for this internship position, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in the field of migration and the operations of international organizations. The internship is designed for students and recent graduates, thus prior professional experience may not be required, but any relevant volunteer work or academic projects related to procurement, logistics, or migration will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Turkish is required for this position. IOM's official languages also include French and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be beneficial. Language skills will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments to ensure candidates can effectively communicate in the required languages.

Additional Notes:
The internship is subject to funding confirmation, and the appointment will require certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, and any necessary government authorizations. Interns may receive a small monthly stipend to help offset costs, but those receiving financial remuneration or credits from their university or sponsoring body will not be eligible for this stipend. IOM provides coverage for occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan, but interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illnesses. IOM has a zero-tolerance policy regarding conduct incompatible with the aims of the United Nations and IOM, including discrimination and harassment. The organization does not charge any fees during the recruitment process and only accepts applications submitted through the IOM online recruitment system.
