Job Overview: The IT Analyst position within the World Bank Group's Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) is crucial for supporting the organization's mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The role involves working closely with finance clients to support modern cloud-based web applications, particularly those related to IDA Mobilization, IBRD Corporate Finance, and Concessional finance & Accounting units. The IT Analyst will be responsible for maintaining the business applications systems landscape and coordinating ongoing maintenance services. This position requires a proactive approach to liaising with both onsite and offshore teams to ensure that IT support activities are executed effectively and within defined specifications. The IT Analyst will also be involved in developing code, preparing documentation, and participating in user training, all while ensuring compliance with the organization's mission and values.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Analyst will report to the ITSFE team lead and will have a variety of responsibilities, including: supporting and maintaining cloud-based systems for IDA, TF F&A, and Corporate Finance; establishing systems to monitor the efficiency of existing applications; liaising with IT teams and business clients to ensure timely support; facilitating the transition of application support activities; developing and testing programs; preparing documentation for procedures; debugging systems; providing daily operational support; participating in user training; and collaborating with business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements. The role also involves assisting in the development of technical specifications, testing work, and contributing to post-implementation reviews, all while ensuring alignment with the organization's policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). They should have experience working with geographically distributed teams and proven work experience in implementing and developing cloud-based solutions on an enterprise scale, particularly on Microsoft Azure platforms. Familiarity with industry-standard processes for systems design, database design, development, testing, and integration phases of a project is essential, along with hands-on experience with Microsoft .Net, Angular, MS SQL, Azure Functions, and other related technologies. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Candidates with experience in finance or technology-related fields, particularly those with knowledge of cloud-based solutions and enterprise systems, will be preferred.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience in implementing and developing cloud-based solutions, particularly on Microsoft Azure platforms, is crucial.
