Job Overview: The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager will be responsible for implementing and supervising all logistics operations at the assigned base in Kharkiv. This role involves organizing logistic support for various programs in accordance with Solidarités International's procedures. The Logistics Manager will also assist the base manager or field coordinator in enforcing safety rules. The position requires a proactive approach to logistics management, ensuring that the logistics department is well-integrated with all other departments and that objectives are met efficiently. The first month will focus on implementing procurement procedures, managing partnerships, and establishing emergency stockpiling strategies. Given the volatile security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security situation in Kharkiv, the Logistics Manager must also be adept at navigating challenges related to safety and operational continuity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the logistics department team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
Implement and pursue departmental objectives, aligning logistics operations with the overall mission of Solidarités International.
Provide advice and methodological support to program and support teams on technical logistics questions.
Ensure that the logistics department is cross-cutting and well-integrated with all other departments, maintaining functional links with coordinators and managers.
Oversee procurement processes, including calls for tenders and supplier management for upcoming projects.
Manage transportation logistics, including fleet management and coordination of transport services.
Establish and maintain emergency stockpiling protocols to ensure readiness for urgent needs.
Assist in the implementation of safety protocols and procedures to protect staff and assets during operations in a volatile security environment.
Monitor and report on logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as logistics or humanitarian studies.
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar logistics management position.
Strong technical skills in procurement, transport, and fleet management.
Excellent communication skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in logistics, humanitarian studies, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics management in humanitarian contexts and for effectively contributing to the organization's mission.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with specific experience in logistics management being highly desirable. Additional Notes: The position is a salaried role with a starting gross salary of EUR 2310 per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2100 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The contract is for a short-term duration of 6 months, with a system of alternating work and time off implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs.
