Job Overview: The Analyst position is based in the EBRD’s resident office in Amman, Jordan, and is dedicated to the sustainable infrastructure sector within the EBRD’s team. This role involves working on the Bank's mandate in the energy and infrastructure sectors, particularly focusing on debt and equity investments in both public and private sectors. The Analyst will engage in various phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive due diligence, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies, and supporting project implementation and monitoring. The Analyst will also be involved in business development, client management, and policy dialogue, contributing to the overall success of the projects in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the operation leader or senior bankers. Key responsibilities include:
Structuring and Execution: Collaborating with project teams on transactions, conducting research and analysis, evaluating risks, preparing financial models, and assisting with technical cooperation assistance.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: Monitoring project implementation, preparing draft monitoring reports, ensuring compliance with project agreements, and assisting with TC assignments. The Analyst will progressively take on more complex tasks and responsibilities as they gain experience.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Arabic are required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory for this position, while a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates with relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA will have an advantage. The educational background should be in areas related to finance, economics, or business administration, providing a solid foundation for the analytical tasks required in this role.
Experience: Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Candidates should have a good understanding of the infrastructure and energy sectors in the region, with experience in project finance or climate finance considered an advantage.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Candidates should possess good written and oral communication skills in both languages to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders in the region. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
