Job Overview: The position of Praktikant*in für Wissens- und Prozessmanagement im develoPPP-Programm is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the collaboration between the state, economy, and civil society. The develoPPP program aims to foster partnerships that align the interests of development policy with those of businesses. Interns will be involved in cross-program knowledge and process management, supporting program leadership and the team with various tasks. This role provides an opportunity to engage in the daily operations of GIZ and gain insights into diverse develoPPP projects, which range from training local professionals to piloting innovative technologies and improving social and ecological standards in production facilities. The intern will play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of the program and contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the 2030 Agenda.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include coordinating and organizing team activities, particularly in preparation for and during the develoPPP idea competitions. You will conduct research on develoPPP projects, create smaller analyses independently, and prepare workflows and materials in a clear and structured manner. Additionally, you will assist in addressing inquiries from the German Bundestag, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and GIZ management on various topics, as well as effectively presenting develoPPP within GIZ. You will also support the implementation of IT solutions related to the program and the idea competition, maintain and update project data in various IT systems (such as SAP and proprietary developments), and contribute ideas for improving knowledge and process management (WiM). Furthermore, you will assist in the methodological development and enhancement of the WiM system, including training project managers and managing the system landscape.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least a completed undergraduate degree or a bachelor's degree in fields such as (business/geo) informatics, information sciences, economics (business or political science), or related areas. Ideally, applicants should have foundational knowledge or practical experience regarding the engagement of businesses in developing and emerging countries. Proficiency in IT and familiarity with the Office 365 suite, particularly Excel and potentially Power Query, is essential. Experience with MS Teams, Lists, SharePoint, SAP database systems, and Power Automate is advantageous. The ability to maintain an overview in a diverse work environment, work diligently under pressure, and efficiently organize daily tasks is crucial. Strong organizational skills, structured thinking, and conceptual abilities are key strengths for this role. Candidates should be self-motivated, take responsibility, and have a service-oriented mindset with a focus on user-centered solutions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly and thoroughly understand new and complex topics are also required. Experience in process management is a plus.
