Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the global initiative 'Strengthening Women for Resilient Rural Areas' (WE4R), which focuses on empowering women in rural areas through the sustainable management of land resources. This initiative aligns with the '3 R' approach of feminist development policy, aiming to enhance the rights, resources, and representation of women affected by issues such as soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. Interns will gain insights into the operations of an internationally recognized implementation institution in the field of international cooperation, supporting various processes and tasks under the guidance of a mentor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will be responsible for supporting the team in various capacities, including: assisting with the technical and organizational management of different project activities, such as overseeing funding and coordinating country measures in Kenya, Madagascar, and Mali; conducting research, analyses, and evaluations, and preparing information for diverse target groups and formats; organizing and documenting workshops and events; contributing to knowledge management and public relations efforts, including writing blog entries for the intranet and newsletters, and updating informational materials.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be enrolled in a relevant degree program, such as agricultural sciences, geography, international cooperation, environmental and climate policy, or related fields with connections to land resource management and/or gender studies. A foundational understanding of rural development topics is essential, along with any prior experience or knowledge in land resource management, the Rio Conventions (UNCCD, UNFCCC, CBD), or gender in rural development being advantageous. Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex information in an accessible manner are required, as well as experience in communication and public relations being a plus.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be at least in their fourth semester of study in a relevant academic program. The internship is only available to those who are currently enrolled, participating in a training program that includes an internship, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, any exposure to land resource management, rural development, or gender studies will be beneficial. Experience in communication and public relations is also desirable, as it will aid in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in written French, English, and German is required, with the ability to handle extensive texts and tables using Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication skills are essential for the role, particularly in conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
