This internship offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with pressing domestic and international human rights issues, particularly those affecting Japan. Interns will participate in various activities, including attending lectures, training sessions, and workshops related to human rights, as well as networking with other interns, volunteers, and HRW staff. This position allows students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, gaining valuable experience in the field of human rights advocacy and research.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will assist with HRW's research and advocacy efforts concerning human rights issues in Japan and the broader Asia region. Key responsibilities include conducting desk research, analyzing data, and supporting advocacy initiatives. Interns will also attend external meetings with HRW staff and may participate in additional projects that align with their interests and skills. This role requires a proactive approach and a commitment to detail, as interns will be integral to the organization's efforts to address human rights challenges.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be undergraduate or graduate students during the internship period, with a preference for those studying human rights or related fields.
