Job Overview: The Grant Manager position is a key role within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team, reporting directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director. The primary responsibility of the Grant Manager is to ensure accountability to donors, which involves contributing to the strategic development of the mission, monitoring and identifying funding opportunities that align with SI's country and global strategy, and overseeing the compilation of high-quality proposals and reports. The Grant Manager is also tasked with monitoring compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle and building the capacity of staff on internal accountability tools and donor procedures. This role requires proactive follow-up on donor contractual obligations and ensuring that these obligations are understood by relevant departments. Additionally, the Grant Manager is responsible for centralizing relevant documentation for external audits and maintaining an organized archive of audit reports. The position presents challenges such as the time-consuming nature of translation from Spanish to French or English, the need for regular training of base teams on reporting and donor accountability, and the necessity for thorough cross-checking of project documentation. The Grant Manager will also need to navigate the complexities of the security context in Venezuela while ensuring effective communication and adherence to security protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grant Manager's duties include:
Contributing to the mission's strategic development by identifying and pursuing funding opportunities.
Overseeing the preparation and submission of timely and high-quality proposals and reports to donors.
Monitoring compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle and ensuring that all relevant staff are trained on these procedures.
Proactively following up on donor contractual obligations and ensuring that all departments are aware of their responsibilities.
Centralizing documentation for external audits and maintaining an organized archive of audit reports.
Coordinating with teams to provide feedback on monitoring reports for ongoing projects and ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.
Engaging with donors and partners to strengthen relationships and enhance collaboration.
Launching discussions with coordinators on partnership strategies and action points for the mission.
Ensuring that security protocols are followed, especially when traveling to remote areas.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Grant Manager position should possess a graduate degree and/or post-graduate degree in Public Health, Project Management, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent field experience in humanitarian work may be considered. Specific skills required include:
Experience in the humanitarian sector, with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
Experience in similar positions, ideally with 0-2 years in a grant management role.
Strong proposal and report writing skills.
Knowledge of humanitarian donors and their requirements.
Training and capacity-building skills.
Proficient translation skills between Spanish, English, and French.
Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, proactivity, autonomy, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a graduate degree and/or post-graduate degree in relevant fields such as Public Health, Project Management, International Development, or Social Sciences. Equivalent field experience in humanitarian contexts may also be considered as a substitute for formal education.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in similar grant management roles. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of donor requirements and experience in proposal writing and reporting.

The role is based in Caracas, Venezuela, and offers a competitive salary starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates are provided with a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, dental, and repatriation costs.
