Job Overview:
The position of Asistente de Programa - implementación - SC-5 is crucial for the effective implementation of WFP's humanitarian response projects in Ecuador. The role involves aligning these projects with national strategies and corporate methodologies, ensuring that food assistance is delivered efficiently to vulnerable populations affected by crises. The assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Program Officer and will coordinate closely with local partners and stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach to managing operational processes and activities, with a focus on delivering high-quality assistance while adhering to WFP's standards. The assistant will also be responsible for analyzing data and presenting information to support decision-making processes, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of WFP's programs in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente de Programa - implementación will have a wide range of responsibilities, including: designing and improving operational processes for efficient program implementation, supporting the delivery of food assistance in accordance with WFP standards, managing relationships with implementing partners and service providers, monitoring assistance through corporate systems, analyzing and presenting technical information for various audiences, strengthening technical capacities through training, ensuring preparedness for emergencies, managing administrative and financial resources efficiently, and documenting best practices and lessons learned. The role also requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, providing well-organized and precise information to facilitate decision-making and program execution.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of humanitarian operations and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with cash-based transfers and data collection tools used by WFP is desirable. The role requires excellent coordination skills and the ability to navigate complex humanitarian operations. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize information into reports are essential. Candidates should also exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
A completed higher education degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or related fields is highly valued. This educational background provides the necessary theoretical framework and analytical skills required for the position.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in areas such as human mobility, food assistance, humanitarian aid, emergency social protection, and cash transfer management is required. Experience working with the United Nations system or NGOs and in inter-institutional coordination is considered an asset. This level of experience ensures that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the complexities of the role and contribute effectively to WFP's mission.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish (oral and written) is mandatory, with Spanish as a native language being preferred. A minimum of intermediate English proficiency (B1) is required, along with good reading comprehension skills. Proficiency in additional languages may be advantageous but is not mandatory.

The contract duration for this position is six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
