Job Overview:
The position of ANALISTA EN MODELACIÓN MACROECONÓMICA involves supporting the construction of a modeling system/environment that integrates various tools developed by the organization to analyze the macroeconomic effects of different policies and changes in the productive matrix. The analyst will be responsible for developing statistical analyses and analytical tools that complement modeling efforts and contribute to technical notes and communication products. The role also includes supporting the Climate and Energy team in creating communication products and funding proposals related to the area’s strategy. This position is crucial for enhancing the understanding of the economic, social, and environmental interactions related to climate change and for facilitating informed decision-making in the context of Mexico's climate strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the ANALISTA EN MODELACIÓN MACROECONÓMICA include:
  • Integrating a system/environment of models that supports the analysis of macroeconomic impacts.
  • Constructing databases and repositories of statistical information to aid in the development of economic, energy, and climate models.
  • Building a reference site on climate change, circular economy, and energy efficiency.
  • Coordinating consultancies related to the development of various economic models led by the organization.
  • Constructing and simulating scenarios based on insights and information derived from the models developed.
  • Providing support in describing models to assist users and beneficiaries in utilizing tools, updating data, and effectively tracing information.
  • Developing exercises to organize training on the use of economic models, including presentations, graphics, and communication products related to the models.
  • Assisting in the preparation of funding proposals, blogs, and communication products that contribute to the Climate and Energy strategy.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, related fields, or environmental engineering.
  • Knowledge in economics, development of micro and macroeconomic analyses, environmental economics, and/or climate change economics.
  • Proven experience in economic and environmental research, as well as in policy analysis, risks, and impacts of climate change.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and preferably skills in a programming language.
  • Familiarity with tools/software such as Stata, R-commander, Rats (medium), and E-views.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in economics, a related field, or environmental engineering. This educational background is essential as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex economic models and their application in analyzing climate change impacts and policies.

Experience:
The position requires proven experience in economic and environmental research, as well as in analyzing policies related to climate change.
