Job Overview:
The HR Associate position is a vital role within the Operations Team at UN Women, responsible for providing administrative and logistical support in recruitment processes, onboarding candidates, and managing HR administration issues. The HR Associate will work closely with other units and sister agencies, particularly UNDP, to ensure compliance with UN Women’s HR policies and guidelines. This role requires a proactive approach to managing operational requirements and providing HR-related information to management and staff. The HR Associate will also be involved in performance management, learning and development, and maintaining HR data in compliance with organizational standards. The position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Associate will be responsible for a variety of key functions including: administering and implementing HR strategies and policies in compliance with UN Women regulations; providing HR administrative and logistical services; processing and drafting correspondence; maintaining files and records; managing leave and record management; facilitating recruitment processes including drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, and preparing recruitment documentation; supporting staff performance management and learning and development; maintaining HR databases and generating reports; organizing training and workshops; and ensuring compliance with audit findings. The incumbent will also be expected to perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of HR administration, processes, and policies. They should have the ability to execute administrative processes and handle confidential information. Good quantitative skills and strong IT skills are essential, along with the ability to produce reports and provide inputs for business process re-engineering. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or Public Administration is considered an asset. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of HR management and administration within the UN framework.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant experience in office administration and/or human resource management. Experience with office software packages such as MS Word and Excel is required, along with familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, which is desirable for managing HR processes efficiently.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is considered an advantage and would enhance the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.
