Job Overview: The consultant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive curriculum design for a postgraduate course focused on disability and rehabilitation in early childhood. This initiative is part of UNICEF's cooperation program in Bolivia, which aims to enhance access to quality health services for vulnerable populations, particularly children with disabilities. The consultant will conduct a needs assessment, engage with key stakeholders, and create a curriculum that aligns with national health policies and international best practices. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough needs assessment to identify training gaps in disability and rehabilitation for early childhood professionals.
Design and develop a comprehensive curriculum for a postgraduate course, including theoretical and practical components.
Collaborate with academic institutions to validate and manage the approval of the curriculum.
Prepare detailed course outlines, including objectives, methodologies, evaluation criteria, and graduation requirements.
Ensure alignment of the curriculum with national health policies and international standards.
Facilitate consultations and interviews with key stakeholders in the health sector to gather insights and feedback.
Produce a final report that includes the validated curriculum and recommendations for implementation.
Coordinate with the Ministry of Health and Sports to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of the sector and contributes to the improvement of services for people with disabilities.
Specialized studies or postgraduate education in higher education, rehabilitation, or disability care.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in disability and rehabilitation.
At least 5 years of specific experience in curriculum design and higher education, preferably in programs related to disability and rehabilitation.
Teaching or facilitation experience in health, rehabilitation, or disability contexts.
Knowledge of national health policies and disability regulations, including the SAFCI and SUS policies.
Familiarity with competency-based training programs in higher education.
Strong analytical skills for conducting needs assessments and developing contextualized proposals.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health or Social Sciences. Additional qualifications in higher education, rehabilitation, or disability care are essential, along with specialized training or postgraduate studies that enhance their expertise in these areas.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in fields related to disability and rehabilitation. Candidates should have at least 5 years of specific experience in curriculum development and higher education, particularly in programs focused on disability, rehabilitation, and early childhood education. Experience in teaching or facilitating training processes in health and rehabilitation contexts is also necessary.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and the development of materials in Spanish. Knowledge of English or other languages may be advantageous but is not required.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to be conducted in Bolivia, and candidates must have Bolivian nationality or a valid work permit.
