In 2016, it was registered as a Social Enterprise under the name Cuong Thinh BLV Social Co., LTD. The organization aims to alleviate the educational burdens faced by poor families in Vietnam by promoting knowledge and supporting children in obtaining the education they deserve. BLV operates three main projects: a Books Library, a Scholarship program, and English Classes, all designed to enhance educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth.

Job Overview:
The Online English Teacher Volunteer position is designed to support Better Life Vietnam's mission of improving education for underprivileged children and youth. Volunteers will engage in teaching English to help Vietnamese children practice their speaking skills. Each volunteer will be assigned to teach 1-3 groups of children, dedicating 1-3 hours each week to this role. The primary focus will be on teaching proper pronunciation and helping students identify and correct errors in English spelling and word usage. Sessions typically last one hour and are scheduled primarily in the evenings (7 pm, 8 pm ICT), with some sessions available on weekends in the morning or afternoon. Lesson materials will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to create their own materials if they have prior experience in lesson planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach English pronunciation to children, ensuring they can articulate words and sentences correctly.
• Assist students in identifying and correcting errors in their English spelling and word usage.
• Conduct 1-hour sessions with assigned groups of children, focusing on interactive and engaging teaching methods.
• Utilize provided lesson materials effectively while also being open to creating personalized lesson plans based on individual teaching styles and experiences.
• Participate in training sessions or meetings organized by Better Life Vietnam to enhance teaching effectiveness and align with the organization's educational goals.
• Provide feedback on student progress and suggest improvements to the program based on volunteer experiences.

Required Qualifications:

• A strong command of the English language, with a focus on speaking and pronunciation.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in English as a second language, is preferred but not mandatory.
• Patience and enthusiasm for teaching children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to accommodate teaching schedules.
• Familiarity with online teaching tools and platforms is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A background in education, linguistics, or a related field is preferred, but not strictly required. Volunteers should possess a good understanding of English grammar and vocabulary, as well as effective teaching methodologies suitable for young learners.

Experience:
While prior teaching experience is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. Volunteers should be comfortable communicating in English and have a passion for helping children learn. Experience working with diverse groups of students, particularly those from low-income families, is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as the role involves teaching English to children. Knowledge of Vietnamese may be beneficial but is not required. Volunteers who can communicate in additional languages may enhance their effectiveness in teaching and connecting with students.
