Job Overview:
In this role, the Senior Program Officer will be a vital member of the Vaccine Development team, responsible for managing a portfolio of investments and partnerships focused on priority product development efforts. This includes leading partnerships with organizations like the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and overseeing pandemic-related grants. The officer will provide clinical leadership, program management, and strategic development for vaccine initiatives, ensuring alignment with the foundation's goals. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the impact of vaccine development programs and to drive innovative solutions in clinical research.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Program Officer will define and lead the strategy for the pandemic product development portfolio, collaborating closely with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Integrated Clinical Vaccines Development. Responsibilities include acting as the foundation's Project Lead for priority vaccine development programs, negotiating and managing grants and contracts, consulting with partners to optimize project outcomes, advising on clinical study designs, and providing technical expertise on vaccine development processes. The officer will also represent the foundation externally, forge collaborations with global experts, and actively seek new partnerships to advance global health programs. Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a PhD and/or MD with at least 15 years of experience in clinical research and development, vaccine development, infectious diseases, or immunology. Experience with epidemic infectious diseases and various vaccine platforms is preferred. The role requires a strong understanding of clinical vaccine research, regulatory requirements, and the ability to manage complex projects effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to innovation and possess excellent communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
A doctoral degree (PhD or MD) is required for this position, reflecting the advanced level of expertise needed in clinical research and vaccine development. The educational background should include extensive training in relevant scientific fields, particularly those related to infectious diseases and immunology.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, particularly in clinical research and vaccine development. Experience as a project lead in the vaccine or biologics industry is highly desirable, along with a proven track record of managing cross-functional product development plans and working with partners in low and middle-income countries.

Languages:
While no specific languages are mandated, proficiency in English is essential for effective communication. Additional language skills may be beneficial, particularly in regions where the foundation operates.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require travel up to 30% domestically and internationally. The salary range for this role is between $233,600 to $362,200 USD, with higher ranges for positions based in Seattle and Washington D.C.
