Job Overview:
The Director, Growth & Fundraising Strategy will report directly to the Vice President of Resource Development and will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to implement the first phase of the Investment Case and Growth Strategy. This role involves creating systems to monitor progress, evaluate impact, and establish clear escalation points, allowing team members to work independently within defined expectations. The Director will ensure a holistic approach to fundraising, aligning and integrating overlapping areas across the team. Key functions include developing Mass Marketing fundraising strategies and campaigns, monitoring and evaluating fundraising activities, enhancing donor engagement programs, and serving as the primary business owner of the CRM platform. The Director will also contribute to cross-functional decision-making as a core member of the Leadership Team and represent Save the Children Canada at the international level as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Director, Growth & Fundraising Strategy include:
  • Developing and implementing Mass Marketing fundraising strategies and campaigns aligned with established goals and targets, ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of fundraising activities and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Creating and tracking multi-channel fundraising strategies to achieve revenue targets, including robust reporting and analytics structures.
  • Enhancing donor stewardship and engagement programs to ensure a consistent brand experience.
  • Collaborating with Finance to integrate fundraising data with financial systems and develop analytical tools.
  • Leading the assigned team/department, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management.
  • Overseeing budget management, recruitment, change management, and career development while fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and maintaining transparent communication on strategy and policies.
  • Upholding the organization's Code of Conduct and integrating Child Safeguarding practices. 1
  • Occasionally traveling locally, nationally, and internationally as required (less than 10%).

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience; CFRE designation is an asset.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of management experience in fundraising or mass marketing strategies, preferably in a global environment.
  • Experience in International Development, NGOs, or other not-for-profit sectors is preferred.
  • People management experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in marketing, campaign execution, and brand management.
  • Strong financial management and data analytical skills.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 1
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to change management.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a post-secondary education in a relevant field, which may include areas such as business administration, marketing, or nonprofit management. Equivalent experience in related roles may also be considered. A CFRE designation is considered an asset, indicating a professional level of fundraising expertise.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7-10 years of management experience specifically in fundraising or mass marketing strategies. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in a global environment, ideally within the International Development or nonprofit sectors. Experience in managing teams and projects, particularly in a unionized setting, is preferred. The role demands a strong understanding of marketing channels, campaign execution, and brand management, along with a customer-centric approach to improving donor experiences.

Languages:
While English is mandatory, proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered an asset. This multilingual capability can enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and broaden the organization's outreach efforts.

Additional Notes:
This position offers a competitive salary range between $115,639.15 - $138,766.55 CAD, depending on skills and experience.
