Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) focuses on collaboration with the private sector and portfolio development. The ISC3 is an international competence center based in Bonn, Germany, aimed at promoting the transition of the chemical and chemistry-related sectors towards sustainable chemistry. The center emphasizes a circular economy that considers sustainability at every stage of the product lifecycle and encourages behavioral changes among all stakeholders. Interns will gain insights into international cooperation, sustainable chemistry, strategic partnerships, and fundraising within the context of development policy. This role is designed for individuals eager to make a difference in the world while developing their professional skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will support the Director for Strategic Alliances at ISC3 with a variety of exciting and responsible tasks. Your duties will include:
  • Assisting in identifying and researching potential funding programs and financing sources (e.g., EU Commission, foundations, multilateral banks).
  • Contributing to the maintenance of partner/donor databases and preparing stakeholder analyses.
  • Supporting the preparation and execution of meetings with industry partners, strategic partners, and donor institutions, including creating presentations, briefings, and minutes.
  • Collaborating in the development of concept papers and innovative project ideas in conjunction with other ISC3 departments and external partners.
  • Assisting in drafting technical and financial proposals in close coordination with the ISC3 team.
  • Conducting research and editorial work on contributions for fundraising and visibility communication campaigns for ISC
  • Preparing ISC3 contributions for international conferences and providing organizational and content support for awareness and training formats.
  • Assisting in managing and coordinating external service providers (e.g., during tenders or contract preparations).

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable chemistry, international cooperation, and strategic partnerships. Proficiency in both German and English, both spoken and written, is essential. Familiarity with MS Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, is required. The ideal candidate will possess initiative, organizational skills, and a passion for teamwork. Creativity and the ability to present topics effectively are also important attributes for this role. A proactive approach to contributing to a dynamic team that is advancing a new field is highly valued.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program or in a training course that requires the completion of an internship as an integral part of the curriculum. Alternatively, candidates may apply if their degree was completed no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated, any background related to sustainable chemistry, international relations, or project management will be advantageous. The internship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the ISC3's mission.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
