Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to support the programmatic monitoring and reporting efforts of the organization, assisting zone coordinators in their tasks. The intern will be involved in the design, technical capitalization, and field interventions alongside program managers. The role requires participation in evaluations and technical diagnostics related to water, sanitation, and hygiene (EHA), as well as the writing of reports under the supervision of the zone coordinator. The intern will also assist in the technical design of activities and monitor the technical support provided to associations and institutions. This position is crucial for ensuring the quality and relevance of projects aimed at improving living conditions for vulnerable populations in France, particularly those lacking access to basic services.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will have a variety of responsibilities, including:
Participating in the evaluation missions and technical diagnostics related to EHA, and assisting in report writing under the supervision of the zone coordinator.
Supporting zone coordinators and program managers in the technical design of activities.
Updating various monitoring and program management tools, including tracking installations and project indicators.
Assisting in operational implementations such as installations, maintenance, and distributions.
Engaging with technical providers and volunteers involved in activities, including presenting activities and technical solutions.
Assisting in the distribution of hygiene kits and hygiene promotion activities.
Contributing to the centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides, and tools related to EHA activities in France.
Participating in the capitalization of methods and techniques used in interventions and experiences gained by SI and other actors in EHA activities.
Assisting in the drafting of projects and reports for donors under the supervision of the zone coordinator. 1
Participating in the archiving of administrative and programmatic documents. 1
Maintaining documentation related to logistics and finance for EHA activities. 1
Occasionally participating in the recruitment and management of volunteers, including administrative tasks related to volunteer management. 1
Assisting in the recruitment process for the replacement intern at the end of the contract.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have studies in development, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, political science, or a scientific background. Knowledge of water, hygiene, and sanitation, as well as familiarity with the humanitarian sector, is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and GIS software (Earth, QGIS) is required. Strong analytical and writing skills, as well as the ability to synthesize information, are essential. The candidate should demonstrate proactivity, critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL are also necessary. A valid driver's license (Permis B) is required.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a background in fields related to development, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, or political science. A scientific profile may also be suitable for this position, particularly if it includes relevant knowledge of water, hygiene, and sanitation.
Experience: The position is intended for interns, so prior professional experience is not strictly required, but any relevant experience in humanitarian work, project management, or related fields would be beneficial. The candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the demands of the role.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as the position is based in France and requires interaction with local communities and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international teams.
Additional Notes: This internship is based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL office in Nantes, with occasional field trips to areas such as Angers. The internship duration is 6 months, starting on June 23, 202
The intern will receive a stipend of €4.90 per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked. Transportation costs will be covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, and meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day will be provided, with a 60% contribution from the organization.
