Job Overview:
The role of the Communications Consultant is pivotal in executing the communications strategy for WRI India’s flagship event, Connect Karo 2025, which is scheduled to take place on September 2-3, 202
  • The consultant will be responsible for engaging with various stakeholders before and during the event, ensuring that the communications strategy is effectively implemented. This position requires a high level of organization and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as strong communication skills to facilitate interactions with diverse audiences. The consultant will work closely with the Core Communications team to support WRI India’s leadership and program teams, contributing to the overall success of the organization’s initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Consultant will be tasked with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for the Connect Karo 2025 event, ensuring alignment with WRI India’s mission and goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including partners, sponsors, and participants, to promote the event and ensure their involvement.
  • Create and manage content for various communication channels, including social media, press releases, and event materials.
  • Coordinate with the Core Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, making adjustments as necessary to enhance outreach and engagement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on communication activities and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in organizing logistics for the event, including coordinating with vendors and managing event-related communications.
  • Foster relationships with media representatives to secure coverage of the event and WRI India’s initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in communications or a relevant field, along with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in communications. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in journalism and public relations, as well as those who have experience working with think tanks and organizations that specialize in climate change. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of communication strategies and their application in a non-profit context.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in communications or a related field is required for this position. This educational background should provide the candidate with a solid foundation in communication principles, strategies, and practices, which are essential for effectively executing the communications strategy for the Connect Karo 2025 event.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in communications, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in journalism, public relations, or with organizations focused on climate change. The candidate should have a proven track record of managing communication projects and engaging with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Languages:
