Job Overview: The position of Manager for Care Integration is pivotal in driving the next phase of a health initiative aimed at improving patient access to healthcare services in Madhya Pradesh, India. The successful candidate will oversee the expansion of the Care Integration pilot, which currently facilitates patient appointments for outpatient department (OPD) consultations and diagnostics at government facilities. This role involves strategic planning and execution to broaden the geographical reach and service scope of the initiative, transitioning the platform to the Madhya Pradesh government, and engaging with the National Health Authority (NHA) to integrate Care Integration services into their centralized call center operations. The Manager will work closely with technology partners to develop a technology roadmap that supports the scaling of services, ensuring that the initiative is patient-centric and leverages innovative technology solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the institutionalization of a significant health initiative that combines public health, technology innovation, and private sector engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Manager include:
Strategic planning and delivery of expanded Care Integrated services in Madhya Pradesh, scaling up from two to five districts and increasing service offerings to include appointments at private AB PM-JAY empanelled hospitals and telemedicine.
Developing a roadmap for the initiation of Care Integration services at the NHA, requiring a thorough understanding of their current call center operations and fostering stakeholder engagement.
Collaborating with the Care Integration team and Madhya Pradesh health leadership to create and implement pathways for transitioning Care Integration services to the state government.
Partnering with the Technology Lead to develop and execute a technology roadmap for scaled operations, including enhancements to the current platform in the medium term and transitioning to a more integrated platform in the long term.
Documenting and disseminating learnings through published articles and other appropriate channels.
Engaging with donors and managing reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in management, public health, engineering, digital health, public policy, or related fields. A minimum of 8 years of work experience in digital health, management consulting, public health, public policy, or similar areas is required. The candidate should demonstrate proven performance in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, showcasing strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is essential. The candidate must be willing to travel across states as required, with travel expectations of up to 30%.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as management, public health, engineering, digital health, or public policy. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of health systems and the management of health initiatives.
Experience: Candidates are expected to have at least 8 years of relevant work experience, particularly in digital health, management consulting, public health, or public policy. Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment and government stakeholder management is highly desirable. Familiarity with e-governance or digital health programs in India, as well as prior exposure to public health systems or health financing, will be considered a strong advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while fluency in Hindi and additional Indian languages is considered an advantage. Strong communication skills in these languages will facilitate effective engagement with diverse stakeholders and enhance the implementation of health initiatives.
