Job Overview:
The Finance and HR Coordinator position is crucial for supporting the field teams in deploying emergency responses, particularly in the context of the ongoing crisis in Sudan. The selected candidate will be part of a remote coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team based in Nairobi, working under the leadership of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director. This role involves coordinating financial and human resources activities, managing timelines for the program, and ensuring compliance with local legal frameworks. The position requires collaboration with counterparts in Darfur and serves as the focal point for the sector with Headquarters. The candidate will play a significant role in ensuring the mission's accountancy and cash flow management, as well as overseeing HR processes such as recruitment, remuneration, and training.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Finance and HR Coordinator include:
  • Ensuring the mission's accountancy and cash flow management, which involves maintaining accurate financial records and overseeing the financial health of the mission.
  • Managing the budget and donor funding contracts, ensuring that all financial activities align with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Implementing the mission’s HR processes, which include recruitment, remuneration, social and healthcare coverage, evaluation, and training of personnel.
  • Ensuring compliance with local legal frameworks regarding employment and financial practices.
  • Guaranteeing the administration of international and national personnel at the mission level, which includes managing contracts, payroll, and employee benefits.
  • Collaborating closely with the Darfur team to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
  • Reporting on financial and HR matters to the Country Director and Headquarters, ensuring transparency and accountability in all operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven experience of at least 4 years in a coordination position, specifically in Finance and HR. They should have a strong background in team management and capacity building, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop teams effectively. Additionally, candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of planning, purchasing, procurement, recruitment, budgeting, and donor reporting. Strong organizational and reporting skills are essential, as is proficiency in professional English, which is mandatory for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.

Educational Background:

Additional Notes:
This is an international contract position with a duration of 3 months, starting on June 15th, 2025, with the possibility of extension. The contract includes social coverage adapted to the individual's situation, such as unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2869€ gross per month, depending on experience, with a field per diem of 682€ net per month. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and 1 day of rest and recuperation (R&R) per month, along with possible transport/package support. The position is open to couples, and HI will support travel costs (air ticket & visa) for accompanying dependents, as well as health and repatriation insurance if the dependent has no income. Housing is provided individually by HI, and if the candidate is a resident in the country, a local package will be offered.
