The ISC3 is an international competence center based in Bonn, implemented by GIZ, which promotes the transition of the chemical and chemistry-related sectors towards sustainable chemistry. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into international cooperation, sustainable chemistry, strategic partnerships, and fundraising within a development policy context. Interns will work closely with the Director for Strategic Alliances, engaging in various exciting and responsible tasks that contribute to the ISC3's mission of fostering a circular economy and sustainability in the chemical sector.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will support the Director for Strategic Alliances at ISC3 with a range of tasks, including: identifying and researching potential funding programs and financing sources (e.g., EU Commission, foundations, multilateral banks); maintaining partner/donor databases and preparing stakeholder analyses; organizing and conducting meetings with industry partners, strategic partners, and donor institutions, including creating presentations, briefings, and minutes; developing concept papers and innovative project ideas in collaboration with other ISC3 departments and external partners; drafting technical and financial proposals in close coordination with the ISC3 team; researching and editorially contributing to communications campaigns related to fundraising and visibility of ISC3; preparing ISC3 contributions for international conferences and providing organizational and content support for awareness and training formats; managing and coordinating external service providers (e.g., during tenders or contract preparations).
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a strong interest in sustainable chemistry, international cooperation, and strategic partnerships. Proficiency in both German and English, both written and spoken, is essential. Familiarity with MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate initiative, organizational skills, and a passion for teamwork. Creativity and the ability to present topics effectively are also important attributes for this role.
Educational Background: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program, participating in a training program that requires an internship, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship. This ensures that the internship is a relevant part of their educational journey and provides practical experience in their field of study.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in the fields of sustainable chemistry and international collaboration.
