Job Overview:
The Senior Driver position at FAO's Subregional Office for the Pacific Islands in Apia, Samoa, is a critical role responsible for providing transportation services for the office staff and visitors. This includes driving high-ranking officials and ensuring their safe and timely arrival at various destinations. The Senior Driver is expected to maintain a high standard of vehicle safety and comfort, manage transportation logistics, and assist with administrative tasks related to transportation. The role requires a proactive approach to meet the local transportation needs of the office while ensuring compliance with local regulations and organizational policies. The incumbent will also serve as a key point of contact for visitors, representing the organization in a professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Driver will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: driving the Head of Office and other staff members, meeting official personnel at the airport, facilitating immigration and customs formalities, ensuring the safety and technical soundness of the vehicle, logging official trips and vehicle maintenance records, assisting with clerical duties, and training junior drivers. The incumbent will also handle local formalities in case of accidents, collect and deliver mail and documents, and support corporate initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and increasing efficiency. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and well-functioning vehicle and adhering to all relevant safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education and a valid driver's license. A minimum of four years of work experience as a driver with a flawless and safe driving record is required. The position demands a strong understanding of local driving rules and regulations, as well as skills in minor vehicle repairs. Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of punctuality and reliability, along with the ability to cope with extended working hours. Additionally, candidates should exhibit competencies in results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a secondary school education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the responsibilities associated with driving and maintaining vehicles, as well as for performing basic clerical tasks that may be required in the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of professional driving experience. Candidates should have a proven track record of safe driving and a flawless driving record. Experience in a similar role, particularly within an international organization or governmental agency, is highly desirable. Languages:
A working knowledge of English at a proficient level (C) is mandatory for this position.
