Job Overview: The Human Resources Associate for Learning Initiatives will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of global learning initiatives offered by the Global Learning Centre to IOM personnel. This position is integral to the Staff Learning Unit (SLU) within the Integrated Talent Management Division (ITM) of IOM. The Associate will work under the supervision of the Chief of ITM and the Head of SLU, directly reporting to the Senior Human Resources Assistant for Learning Initiatives. The role involves managing various aspects of learning initiatives, including logistical and administrative support, ensuring that learning events are effectively planned and executed. The Associate will also be responsible for maintaining the global learning calendar and the learning management system (LMS), ensuring that all upcoming learning events are accurately recorded and that participants receive appropriate certifications upon completion of their training. This position requires a proactive approach to assessing learning needs, drafting concept papers, and contributing to the overall development of learning initiatives that align with the organization's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Human Resources Associate will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting the planning and organization of learning initiatives by assessing learning needs, drafting concept papers, and contributing to the design and development of learning programs; providing logistical and administrative support during the preparation and implementation phases of learning initiatives, which includes arranging meetings, trainings, and events; coordinating with service providers, gathering cost comparisons for venues, and determining budgets for events; managing participant registrations and ensuring they receive certificates of completion; collaborating with various departments and regional offices to align training plans with staff needs; assisting in contract preparation and extension for service providers, verifying invoices, and coordinating with relevant units for procurement and payment processes; collecting data for monitoring learning initiatives, developing assessments, and drafting reports that include participant feedback and testimonials; and performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with completed high school education and five years of relevant experience will also be considered. Project management certification is an advantage, as is Kirkpatrick certification (at least Bronze). Candidates should have experience in administrative procedures and functions, particularly within large international organizations, and should be familiar with facilitating and conducting trainings, both virtual and face-to-face. Experience in organizing events is also essential, and international experience is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Candidates with completed high school or secondary school education may also apply if they have five years of relevant experience. Accreditation of universities is based on listings in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have received their education from recognized institutions. Additional certifications in project management and Kirkpatrick methodologies are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application.

Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. Additional Notes: The contract for this position is fixed-term for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The role is classified at the G-5 grade level within the General Service category.
