Job Overview:
The Hub Management and Investment Portfolio Specialist for the WomenX Collective in Nairobi will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the WomenX Collective Hub. This position involves coordinating with other hubs, supporting resource mobilization, and developing innovative financial models to enhance women's health solutions in low- and middle-income countries. The specialist will work closely with the Global Coordinator of WomenX Collective and the Chief of the Innovation Unit to align the hub's activities with UNFPA's strategic direction. The role requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure the effective implementation of programs that transform the health and well-being of women and girls. The incumbent will be responsible for driving partner engagement, identifying partnership opportunities, and developing new financing models to support the hub's objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will oversee and operationalize the activities of the Nairobi Hub, coordinating with other hubs to ensure cohesive operations. Key responsibilities include supporting the investment pipeline by leading the origination, design, and implementation of a portfolio that supports advanced solutions for women's health. The specialist will develop new financing and partnership models, drive partner engagement, and support resource mobilization and communication efforts. Collaboration with UNFPA and external stakeholders is essential to scale innovative solutions and develop financing mechanisms. The role also involves establishing a platform for generating and sharing public goods, including knowledge, evidence, data, and publications. The incumbent will develop a strategic vision for unlocking private and public capital to scale WomenX Collective operations, exploring partnerships and developing financial instruments. Additionally, the specialist will apply methodologies related to project finance, financial modeling, and public-private partnerships, designing projects that leverage capital for women's health. The role requires building capacity in financing instruments and ensuring the effective functioning of the program and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Economics, Business Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Economics, Health Financing, International Development, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of professional experience at the international level in public health, public and private financing, investment management, or related fields is required. A proven track record in relationship management, fundraising, and resource mobilization, particularly with the private sector, foundations, and philanthropies, is strongly desired. Knowledge of financing mechanisms for health programs and experience with blended finance approaches are essential. The candidate should have experience in designing and delivering analyses to support investment decisions, including due diligence and investment case development. Familiarity with UN Trust funds and large-scale multi-stake partnerships is preferable, along with strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Business Management, Public Health, or International Development is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of financing and investment management in the context of women's health and development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience at the international level, specifically in public health and financing. Candidates should have a strong background in innovative financing and investment management, with a proven ability to manage relationships and mobilize resources effectively. Experience working in low and middle-income countries is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in these contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate and collaborate in diverse international settings.
