Job Overview:
The National Communication and Partnership Specialist will play a crucial role in coordinating and leading the implementation of the FAO Representation’s Communication strategy in China. This position is vital for enhancing the visibility of FAO’s work and exploring partnership opportunities that contribute to the global, regional, and national objectives of eliminating poverty and hunger, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The incumbent will be responsible for promoting FAO’s corporate image through mass media and outreach channels, targeting a diverse audience that includes policymakers, technical experts, students, academia, NGOs, and the general public. The role requires a strategic approach to communication, ensuring that FAO’s mandates and missions are effectively communicated and understood within the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Communication and Partnership Specialist include leading the implementation of the FAO-China Communication Strategy, forming and maintaining strategic partnerships with media networks, collating information to develop digital assets, managing thematic and regional social media channels, advocating for FAO’s mandates, participating in the development of communication plans for key campaigns, preparing and disseminating press releases, supporting media relations, monitoring the FAO website, developing a national media database, tracking media reports, identifying training needs in communications, and assisting in communication work for FAO DPRK. The specialist will also ensure compliance with FAO standards and guidelines, coordinate partnership agreements, and undertake other activities to fulfill visibility objectives as requested by the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in journalism, communications, public relations, television production, or other relevant fields. They should have at least three years of relevant experience in communication, journalism, media engagement, or public relations. A working knowledge of English and Chinese is essential, and candidates must be nationals of China. Core competencies required for this position include a focus on results, teamwork, effective communication, building relationships, and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as journalism, communications, public relations, or television production. Candidates must have qualifications recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in communication, journalism, media engagement, or related fields. Experience in strategic communication, media relations, and marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing is highly valued. Familiarity with FAO policies and programs is considered an asset, as is experience working in both international and national environments.

Languages:
