Job Overview:
The National Programme Coordinator will play a crucial role in the effective execution and successful implementation of projects funded by Canada and Luxembourg. This position involves the formulation, implementation, coordination, technical and financial reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of interventions in alignment with national policies and the UNFPA Country Program in Senegal. The coordinator will report directly to the UNFPA Deputy Resident Representative and will be responsible for ensuring that the projects meet their objectives, particularly in improving maternal health and family planning services in targeted regions of Senegal. The role requires a strategic approach to program management, focusing on results-based management and the integration of lessons learned into program delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Programme Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of Canadian and Luxembourg projects, ensuring alignment with the Country Program. Key duties include providing strategic and technical support for program planning and implementation, ensuring quality program delivery, analyzing the political and social environment related to sexual and reproductive health, and establishing collaborative relationships with regional experts and partners. The coordinator will also oversee financial execution, ensure timely reporting, organize field monitoring visits, document best practices, and support resource mobilization efforts. Additionally, the coordinator will lead advocacy efforts to enhance UNFPA's visibility and strengthen partnerships with donors and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in health or relevant social sciences, with a minimum of five years of experience in project and program development and management. Strong field experience is essential, along with knowledge of national health systems and experience in managing partnerships with various stakeholders, including government, civil society, and UN agencies. Excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills are required, as well as the ability to manage technical and financial aspects of integrated development programs. Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and resource mobilization skills are also necessary.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in health or relevant social sciences is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health issues and for effectively managing programs that address these challenges.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in project and program development and management. This experience should include a focus on results-based management and the ability to align projects with national priorities. Proven experience in leading and managing teams to achieve tangible results is also essential, along with a strong understanding of the national health systems and the ability to coordinate partnerships with various stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, while proficiency in English is also required. These language skills are essential for effective communication with partners, stakeholders, and team members, as well as for reporting and documentation purposes.
