Job Overview: The Associate, Finance Manager position is a pivotal role within the Human Resources and Organizational Development (HROD) department, focusing on delivering cost-related client work and financial planning. The Associate will provide direct support to the HR OD Business Manager and budget delegates, assisting in the consolidation and utilization of their budgets. This role involves preparing resource proposals, conducting analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and monitoring budget execution. The Associate will also be responsible for providing detailed expenditure analysis as part of the budget process and supporting new initiatives with financial insights. The position requires a strong understanding of financial impacts related to HROD policies, including accounting guidelines and staffing issues. The Associate will play a crucial role in preparing reports and budget documents, including presentations for stakeholders and financial schedules for finance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate, Finance Manager include:
Actively monitoring the business plan and budget execution of HROD departments, reviewing costs, and providing insights to the Business Manager and head of reward.
Undertaking regular forecasts with the business and tracking agreements, working collaboratively to resolve deviations.
Conducting monthly monitoring of business plans and budget execution.
Performing financial modelling and analysis on an ad-hoc basis.
Developing and coordinating the annual budget proposal and forecast process.
Preparing journal entries, accruals, and provisions as necessary.
Engaging in regular discussions with budget holders to facilitate efficient budget implementation.
Undertaking financial modelling to support strategic decisions and providing financial support for HROD business cases.
Collaborating with businesses to develop models that support new initiatives. 1
Identifying opportunities for increasing efficiency and effectiveness, including process automation and data quality improvements. 1
Performing other relevant duties as required by business needs, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Associate, Finance Manager position include:
Proven experience in cost management issues, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial principles.
Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
A qualified accountant or part-qualified with substantial practical experience in finance.
Strong accounting knowledge and a solid financial background.
Excellent numeric and analytical skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovative solutions.
Proficiency in IT systems, particularly accounting packages and advanced Excel for financial modelling.

Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, particularly in cost management and budget analysis.
