Job Overview:
As a Junior Programme Support Officer at CERN, you will be part of the High Field Magnet (HFM) Programme, which is pivotal in developing advanced magnet technologies for future accelerator applications. This role is designed for organized and proactive graduates who have a keen interest in cutting-edge science and international collaboration. Your primary responsibilities will involve coordinating technical activities, managing data with precision, and supporting large-scale research initiatives. You will be tasked with maintaining and updating test planning documents, tracking budgets, and managing technical platforms. Additionally, you will support international collaboration agreements, ensuring that all aspects of the programme are well-documented and reported accurately. Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties as a Junior Programme Support Officer will include:
  • Maintaining and updating test planning documents, ensuring that key deliverables and milestones are tracked effectively.
  • Monitoring and tracking budgets and associated expenses to ensure financial accountability.
  • Managing technical platforms such as the Engineering Data Management Service (EDMS), Indico sites, and the HFM website to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Supporting international collaboration agreements by updating and maintaining the collaboration website, monitoring contracts, milestones, budgets, and commitments.
  • Producing statistical reports and analytical summaries to provide insights into the programme's progress and performance.
  • Collaborating with team members in a multidisciplinary environment to achieve common goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
  • You must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Project Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Your highest educational qualification must be either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You must not have previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.
  • Applicants without a university degree or those holding a PhD are not eligible for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of project coordination and data management within the context of scientific research.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation. This experience should be in areas related to Project Management or Data Analytics, which will equip you with the necessary skills to manage technical activities and support large-scale research initiatives effectively.

Languages:

This position is offered on a contract basis for a duration of 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months. The working hours are set at 40 hours per week, and the target start date for this role is August 1, 202

The compensation includes a monthly stipend ranging between 5196 and 5716 Swiss Francs (net of tax), comprehensive health coverage for you and your family, and various allowances depending on individual circumstances. Employees are entitled to 30 days of paid leave per year and will have access to on-the-job training, formal training at CERN, and in-house language courses.
