Job Overview:
The Associate, G&EI, is an integral member of the Gender and Economic Inclusion Team (G&EI), which is structured around four key pillars: Access to Skills and Employment, Access to Finance and Entrepreneurship, Access to Services, and Strategy, Partnerships, Impact and Reporting. This role involves a variety of thematic and pillar-wide responsibilities, contributing to the development of core G&EI products and processes under the supervision of a line manager. The Associate will work closely with the pillar Associate Director and Principal to provide strategic advice on the design and structuring of transition impacts or gender additionality for various projects and frameworks. The position also entails engaging in gender and inclusion policy dialogues, leading technical cooperation projects, and conducting relevant analyses to support the Bank's objectives in promoting gender equality and economic inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate, G&EI, will support the design and implementation of Inclusive Transition Impact (TI) projects for infrastructure investments, collaborating with Banking project teams and participating in project working groups. Responsibilities include assisting in the delivery of policy reform progress in assigned sectors, contributing to Country Diagnostics Studies, and managing gender additionality processes. The Associate will also provide input into sector reform policy dialogues, conduct background research on regulatory developments, draft sector policy notes, and organize awareness events to promote G&EI activities. Additionally, the role requires contributing to joint work across departments and pillars as necessary, ensuring a collaborative approach to achieving the Bank's goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in economics, international development, or a related field from a leading university. They should demonstrate expertise in policy, development, inclusion, or gender, with prior work experience in relevant sectors such as financial institutions, governmental bodies, consultancy firms, think tanks, or academia. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, including proficiency in Excel and familiarity with database/analytic software. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, good interpersonal skills, and familiarity with the EBRD's operational regions are also required. Knowledge of additional languages from the region is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
A postgraduate degree in economics, international development, or a related field is mandatory for this position. Candidates should have a strong academic background from a recognized institution, demonstrating their capability to engage with complex economic and development issues.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have prior work experience in policy-oriented or development roles, ideally gained through full-time employment in relevant sectors. Experience in financial institutions, governmental organizations, consultancy, or academia is highly valued, as it equips candidates with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of gender and economic inclusion.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of one or more languages from the EBRD's operational regions is advantageous and can enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
