Job Overview:
The ICLA Officer position within the NRC is designed to provide critical support in the areas of information, counseling, and legal assistance to individuals affected by crises. The role involves working closely with communities to identify their needs and challenges, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and guidance. The ICLA Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that address legal issues faced by displaced populations, including land rights, housing, and access to services. Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICLA Officer will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting assessments to identify the legal needs of affected populations; providing information and counseling on legal rights and entitlements; developing and implementing training programs for staff and community members on legal issues; collaborating with local authorities and other stakeholders to advocate for the rights of displaced individuals; maintaining accurate records and documentation of cases; preparing reports and contributing to the overall monitoring and evaluation of ICLA programs; ensuring compliance with NRC's safeguarding policies and procedures; and participating in coordination meetings with other humanitarian actors to ensure a cohesive response to the needs of affected populations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the ICLA Officer position should possess a strong understanding of legal frameworks related to displacement and humanitarian response. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities. A demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and ethical practices in humanitarian work is essential. Additionally, candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a challenging environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also required, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in law, social sciences, international relations, or a related field is required for the ICLA Officer position. Experience:

Languages:

Knowledge of local languages spoken in the Bunia area will be considered an asset, enhancing the ability to engage with communities effectively.
