Job Overview: The Partnerships Senior Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the UAMCO team by implementing the partnerships and programme development plan. This position involves engaging with various stakeholders to identify and develop partnership opportunities, overseeing country-related work in the region, and ensuring high-quality outputs. The officer will work closely with the Partnership Specialist and the Programme team to design, formulate, and negotiate new projects and programs. The role requires a proactive approach to building a network of key partners, maintaining communication with different work streams, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of UNOPS in the region. The Partnerships Senior Officer will also be responsible for managing information related to partnerships and ensuring that all relevant data is accurately captured and analyzed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Partnership Specialist in developing engagement opportunities and overseeing country-related work of the UAMCO Partnership in Ukraine, Moldova, and Poland.
Build a network of key partners and keep abreast of social, economic, and political trends.
Establish contacts with potential partners, organize meetings, and prepare records of meetings and action plans.
Lead the identification, design, formulation, drafting, and negotiation of new projects and programs.
Diversify the UAMCO portfolio through the identification and negotiation of new projects.
Create and maintain oneUNOPS opportunities and engagement functionalities.
Coordinate technical and financial requirements for new project opportunities.
Interact with international team members and support country analysis related to recovery and EU accession. 1
Draft country, multi-country, or regional briefing notes as required. 1
Ensure timely collection of country update reports and provide quality assurance for these reports. 1
Support the hiring process of ad-hoc consultancies. 1
Maintain the knowledge management system and track formal communications with country counterparts.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations, international development, economics, finance, administration, or a related field is required.
A Bachelor’s degree combined with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Demonstrated excellent research and analysis skills related to partner/business development in an international setting is highly desirable.
Prior experience in a developing country is highly desirable.
Experience with international organizations or working with donors such as the World Bank or the US Government is considered a strong asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as international relations, international development, economics, finance, or administration. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree combined with additional relevant work experience may be accepted.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in relevant fields. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least 4 years of experience. Experience in international cooperation, communications, partner relationships, and business development is essential, with a preference for candidates who have worked in developing countries or with international organizations.
Languages: Fluency in English (read, write, and speak) is required. Fluency in Polish (read, write, and speak) is also required, as this is a local position open to Nationals of Poland and individuals with a valid residence/work permit.
Additional Notes: The contract type is an ICA (Individual Contractor Agreement) at the Local ICA Specialist level. The contract duration is open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
