Job Overview: The Programme Analyst for Sexual and Reproductive Health of Adolescents and Youth / HIV/AIDS (SSRAJ/VIH) provides technical expertise for the development and implementation of strategies, enhancing skills related to SSRAJ/VIH. The analyst will analyze and evaluate relevant political, demographic, social, and economic trends, contributing significantly to the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of projects, joint programming initiatives, and related national development frameworks. The role involves guiding and facilitating the defined services in UNFPA programs while ensuring the achievement of prescribed results. The analyst will work under the general supervision of the Representative and direct supervision of the Senior Technical Advisor (STA), coordinating closely with other Program Officers and the Operations team.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Analyst will be responsible for several key functions: 1) Contributing to the design and formulation of programs and projects related to adolescent sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS; 2) Managing the implementation of projects, strategies, and activities within the portfolio; 3) Developing and strengthening partnerships for effective program implementation; 4) Enhancing the capacity of implementing partners in matters of adolescent sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS; 5) Promoting effective communication regarding programs and with partners; 6) Ensuring efficient resource management and safeguarding of assets. The analyst will also scan the environment for programming purposes, compile and analyze socio-demographic, health, political, and economic data relevant to adolescent health and HIV/AIDS, and contribute to the development of the Country Program in collaboration with government partners and NGOs. They will oversee the development and operationalization of annual work plans, provide technical assistance, and ensure compliance with approved budgets. The role includes reporting on project implementation and results, documenting best practices, and contributing to resource mobilization efforts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or Program Management in health or a relevant social science field. They should have at least two years of relevant work experience in development program administration and project management, particularly in public health and SSRAJ, comprehensive sexuality education, and community-based strategies. Experience in managing gender-based violence (GBV) cases and multisectoral services is preferred. Familiarity with UN agencies or other international organizations is an asset. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in developing training curricula and materials, analyzing data for humanitarian operations, and possess excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Access, and database software.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or Program Management in health or a related social science field is required. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health issues and the management of related programs.
Experience: The position requires at least two years of relevant professional experience in development program administration and project management, particularly in public health and SSRAJ. Languages: Fluency in French (oral and written) is mandatory, along with a good command of English (oral and written). This bilingual proficiency is crucial for effective communication and collaboration within the UNFPA and with external partners.
