Job Overview:
The Principal, Way of Working Coach will play a pivotal role in transforming the IT delivery model at the EBRD by implementing Agile methodologies. This position is essential for enhancing the capability model, ensuring that teams are equipped with the necessary tools, processes, and frameworks to deliver effectively. The role involves collaborating with various departments to align business strategies with technology decisions, thereby facilitating a more agile response to change. The Principal Coach will also be responsible for creating an agile community within the organization and providing training to staff to sustain the Agile way of working. This position requires a proactive approach to change management and a deep understanding of Agile principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal, Way of Working Coach will be responsible for designing and implementing Agile methodologies aligned with the IT Leadership's Tech Blueprint. Key responsibilities include:
  • Aligning business strategy with technology decisions by providing data insights into the delivery model.
  • Designing tools, processes, and frameworks to execute governance structures and ensure progress towards strategic objectives.
  • Collaborating with other departments and capability teams to implement the Agile way of working, providing support, training, and guidance.
  • Orchestrating changes across departments by influencing stakeholders through effective communication and engagement.
  • Planning the transformation journey for Agile implementation alongside IT Leadership.
  • Assisting IT Leadership in fostering an Agile mindset.
  • Creating an agile community with peers in other International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and Agile enthusiasts within EBRD.
  • Designing and delivering training programs for staff and developing trainers within each capability area.
  • Acting as an escalation point for issues related to the way of working and delivery model. 1
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives in all delivery frameworks. 1
  • Serving as Product Owner for delivery and backlog management tools, managing new features and upgrades. 1
  • Championing the Bank’s Behavioral Competencies and Corporate Behaviors, ensuring high standards of integrity and ethical conduct.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of change management, with a proven track record in leading complex programs and change initiatives focused on Agile methodologies. A solid understanding of the banking sector and IT landscape is essential, along with experience in IT delivery, particularly in migration projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in international (agile) delivery and collaboration across diverse cultures and functional lines. Expertise in the Kanban method and the ability to manage programs from initiation to embedding outcomes is crucial. Strong resilience, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and effective stakeholder engagement skills are required. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are mandatory, and familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure, ServiceNow, and Cognos PowerBI is desirable.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in a field such as Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications in Agile methodologies (such as Scrum Master or Agile Coach certifications) would be advantageous. Continuous professional development in change management and Agile practices is encouraged.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in leading Agile transformations and managing complex change initiatives within an organizational context. Experience in the banking sector or similar industries is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in international settings and across various departments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the EBRD's regions of operation.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role with a fixed-term contract lasting two years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
