Job Overview:
The Senior Officer will play a crucial role within the U.S. Program (USP) of the Gates Foundation, specifically in the Pathways Strategy, Planning & Management (SPM) team. This position is integral to supporting the strategic and operational functions of the team, which includes overseeing strategic planning, annual budgeting processes, investment management, business analysis, and reporting on program goals. The Senior Officer will be responsible for engaging with various stakeholders across the organization, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. The role requires a focus on supporting students, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, to access educational opportunities and successfully transition from high school to postsecondary education. The Senior Officer will also contribute to refining strategies based on ongoing learning and external changes, ensuring that the foundation's goals are met effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Officer will develop and oversee strategic planning and operational processes related to portfolio management, including investment development, annual planning, and budget management. They will provide leadership and support to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director for Strategy, Planning & Management, ensuring that program strategies are effectively translated into actionable plans. The role involves monitoring grant and contract pipelines, managing budgets, and producing accurate forecasts. The Senior Officer will also articulate strategy narratives, update strategy databases, and facilitate team meetings to promote cross-portfolio learning. Additionally, they will act as the primary liaison between the program and business partners, ensuring alignment with financial and operational initiatives. The position may also involve designing and managing special projects to support team operations and programmatic investments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong project management skills, particularly in strategy execution and business process redesign. They should demonstrate excellence in consultative and advisory roles, with the ability to build trust and motivate team members. Outstanding collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Candidates should have experience in creating analytical models and tools, with a strong understanding of financial management, budget development, and operational processes. Educational Background:

New hire salaries typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on the candidate's skills and experience.
