Job Overview:
The Director, Strategy, Planning and Management, and Chief of Staff for the People Team (DSPM/CoS) plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief People Officer (CPO) in leading a high-impact, inclusive, and globally connected People function. This position is responsible for shaping and refining the strategy, setting business rhythms, advancing leadership priorities, and enhancing internal and external engagement. The DSPM/CoS will oversee significant cross-foundation initiatives, such as Partnerships for Impact (P4I), which focus on collaboration with partners to achieve sustainable outcomes. The ideal candidate will excel in navigating ambiguity and complexity, effectively moving initiatives from concept to execution while adapting implementation as necessary. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the People Team's work aligns with the foundation's mission and values, and the DSPM/CoS will frequently represent the CPO in various forums, addressing complex issues and fostering collaboration across teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the DSPM/CoS include providing leadership advisory support to the CPO, ensuring the CPO's voice is effectively communicated internally and externally, and overseeing the preparation and strategic framing for the CPO's engagements. The role involves translating the CPO's priorities into actionable plans, leading strategy development and refinement, and managing systems for tracking strategic and operational KPIs. The DSPM/CoS will also lead business planning processes, develop and manage a team to support high-visibility initiatives, and oversee workforce planning and capabilities. Additionally, the role requires strengthening communication channels within the organization, leading cross-functional communication efforts, and fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture within the People Team. The DSPM/CoS will also be responsible for facilitating team cohesion and collaboration across divisions, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities, and enhancing the overall impact of the People Team's initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience. A strong background in planning, business operations, and performance management within complex global environments is essential. Experience in People, Human Resources, Talent, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) functions is highly preferred, along with a demonstrated understanding of core people practices such as workforce planning and organizational design. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of inclusive people management and talent development, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate confidential and politically sensitive matters with discretion. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are also crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree is required for this position, which may include fields such as business administration, human resources, organizational development, or a related discipline. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in strategic planning, management, and leadership principles relevant to the nonprofit sector.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in roles that demonstrate expanding scope and responsibility.
