Job Overview:
The Analyst position is designed for a junior financial markets professional who will support the Portfolio Management EMEA team in data reporting and management of local currency market risks, including FX, interest rate, and liquidity risks. This role is crucial for the strategic importance of local currency financing for EBRD. The Analyst will assist in both internal and external reporting on local currency activities and will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the team. The position offers an opportunity to build knowledge in financial markets while contributing to the management of significant financial risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: assisting with daily operations, developing and maintaining risk reports from various sources, producing and analyzing reports on local currency transactions, maintaining a dashboard summarizing main risks, running daily and ad-hoc reports, tracking developments in local currency markets, and expanding the framework for managing local currency funding and lending books. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. They should demonstrate strong analytical skills to provide insights on both qualitative and quantitative data, which will aid in decision-making processes. Good interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships and establishing trust quickly. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving, be highly numerical and analytical, and possess strong organizational skills to prioritize and multitask effectively. Additionally, candidates should be proficient in Excel, including some VBA, and have excellent communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience in a relevant role may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in financial principles and analytical techniques necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position is aimed at candidates with junior-level experience in financial markets or related fields. While specific years of experience are not mandated, candidates should demonstrate familiarity with financial data analysis and reporting. Experience in using Excel and understanding financial systems is essential, and any prior experience in a financial institution or similar environment would be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent presentation skills. A second language from one of EBRD’s Countries of Operation is highly desirable, with preferences for Russian, French, and/or Arabic. This multilingual capability will enhance communication and collaboration within the diverse operational regions of EBRD.
