Job Overview:
The Enterprise Architecture Specialist will report to the Principal Software Architect and will be responsible for supporting the design, integration, and governance of the organization’s technology landscape. This role is crucial for ensuring that the technology initiatives align with the business goals and climate-focused objectives of the GCF. The specialist will play a vital role in optimizing IT resources, enabling digital transformation, and contributing to the global fight against climate change. The position requires a proactive approach to anticipate the Fund’s evolving technology and data architecture requirements, establishing strategies that balance innovation with organizational objectives. The specialist will continuously research emerging technologies and industry trends to propose high-impact solutions that enhance the Fund’s capabilities and mission effectiveness. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure that technology investments are secure, scalable, and optimized for adaptability, while adhering to architectural best practices and governance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Enterprise Architecture Specialist include developing and maintaining the enterprise-wide architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The specialist will establish and enforce architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across all technology domains, including infrastructure, applications, data, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. They will identify potential risks related to architecture and technology decisions and propose mitigation strategies to ensure secure and scalable systems. The specialist will articulate and present the value and vision of proposed architectural frameworks and solutions to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating an understanding of the Fund’s business processes and objectives. They will also communicate the business impact of enterprise architecture decisions, organize requirements discussions, conduct proof-of-concept workshops, and develop documentation to support stakeholder adoption of new systems and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related fields. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in similar fields with an additional two years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the Master’s degree requirement. A minimum of nine years of extensive experience in enterprise and solutions architecture is required, with at least two years in enterprise architecture or related roles such as enterprise architect, solution architect, or technical lead. Strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns is essential, complemented by certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Proven expertise with Microsoft’s technology suite, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Purview, is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related subjects. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in similar fields may be considered if they have additional relevant experience, specifically two years more than the required nine years of experience in enterprise architecture roles.

Experience:
The position requires at least nine years of extensive experience in enterprise and solutions architecture, with a minimum of two years specifically in enterprise architecture or related roles. Candidates should have a strong background in modern architectural patterns and experience with Microsoft’s technology suite, as well as familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Languages:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this position. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse international environment.
