Job Overview:
The Strategic Cloud Solutions Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting GCF's cloud transformation initiative. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies and the ability to provide enterprise-wide architectural direction and technology leadership. The specialist will oversee the implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions that align with GCF's strategic business objectives. The specialist will also be responsible for nurturing talent within the organization and fostering a culture of transparency, respect, and innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and assist in executing GCF's multi-year cloud strategy, contributing to the architectural vision and technology roadmap.
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks for cloud, security, and infrastructure policies.
  • Organize and plan the zero-trust security architecture across various platforms.
  • Act as the Solutions Architect for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, making informed decisions on various governance and identity architecture aspects.
  • Analyze departmental requirements to create tailored cloud solutions that enhance service delivery.
  • Organize the Fund’s cloud center of excellence, contributing to knowledge management and architectural standards.
  • Facilitate collaboration among teams to establish foundational cloud architecture and security standards.
  • Advise IT staff on best practices in cloud infrastructure and security.
  • Develop identity architecture standards and advocate for strategic identity management solutions. 1
  • Manage the organization's cloud-native transformation agenda and promote architectural modernization. 1
  • Oversee the organization's infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevOps vision. 1
  • Maintain strategic capacity planning and architectural design for enterprise workloads. 1
  • Assist in architecting automation strategies and operational workflows. 1
  • Enhance operational processes for Microsoft 365 services and ensure compliance controls. 1
  • Establish policies for identity and access management solutions. 1
  • Implement cybersecurity operations and incident response procedures. 1
  • Oversee the development of technical documentation and operational runbooks. 1
  • Plan and develop cloud solutions aligned with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity best practices. 1
  • Architect cloud performance monitoring frameworks to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s Degree.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, or security with a focus on Azure/Microsoft services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and automation tools.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Expertise in API development and advanced application integration methodologies.
  • Expert-level experience in Identity and Access Management solutions, specifically Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Strong skills in cloud security, compliance, and risk management. 1
  • Proficient experience with Azure cloud services and infrastructure solutions. 1
  • Proficient scripting and automation skills using various programming languages. 1
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft 365 ecosystems and related tools. 1
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and managing networks within Azure environments. 1
  • Advanced knowledge of monitoring and performance optimization for cloud environments. 1
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills, with up-to-date knowledge of emerging cloud technologies.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field along with an additional two years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree requirement. This educational background is essential to ensure the candidate possesses the necessary technical knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to GCF's cloud transformation initiatives.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least seven years of experience in relevant fields such as cloud architecture, DevOps, or system engineering, with a specific focus on Azure and Microsoft services. This level of experience is crucial for leading enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiatives and managing complex migration projects, as well as for providing strategic input on emerging cloud technologies and their business impacts.

Languages:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with diverse stakeholders and enhance collaboration within the international context of GCF's operations.

This position is graded at IS-3 and offers a competitive salary of USD 108,700, along with attractive benefits including relocation, dependency, housing, education assistance, and home country travel allowances.
