Job Overview:
The intern will be involved in the regional project 'Employment Promotion of Women for the Green Transformation in Africa' (WE4D), which is implemented in several African countries including Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda. The project aims to boost employment opportunities, promote gender equality, and facilitate green transformation. The intern will support the 'Women Entrepreneurship for Africa' (WE4A) initiative, which focuses on enhancing the economic empowerment and financial inclusion of women entrepreneurs. The role will involve conducting research, supporting project monitoring and evaluation processes, and assisting in the day-to-day implementation of project tasks. The intern will also engage in communication and knowledge management activities, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include conducting literature and internet research to inform methodological approaches, supporting project monitoring and evaluation processes, and assisting in the development of digital tools and questionnaires for data analysis. The intern will also support colleagues and project partners in the implementation of project tasks, facilitate communication and knowledge management, and assist in drafting, editing, and translating project documents and communication materials in English, French, and Portuguese. Additionally, the intern will help prepare, organize, and document team workshops, steering committee meetings, and technical events, as well as process inquiries and requests from the team, other projects, funding partners, and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics/Finance, or Social Sciences. They should possess basic knowledge and a strong interest in German development cooperation, along with initial experience abroad, preferably in sub-Saharan Africa, and/or in the fields of entrepreneurship promotion, women empowerment, and green transformation. Proficiency in IT tools, particularly MS Office programs, is essential, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills in English and good knowledge of German. Knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered an advantage. Candidates should be self-organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics/Finance, or Social Sciences is required for this internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of development cooperation and the specific challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Africa.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have gained initial experience abroad, ideally in sub-Saharan Africa, and/or in areas related to entrepreneurship promotion, women empowerment, and green transformation. This experience will help the intern understand the context of the project and contribute effectively to its goals.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills required. Good knowledge of German is also necessary, while knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered advantageous. This multilingual capability will facilitate effective communication within the diverse project environment and with various stakeholders.
