Job Overview: The position of Praktikant*in Wissensmanagement und organisationales Lernen is situated within the department of 'Methods, Digital Transformation, Innovation' at GIZ. This department consolidates GIZ's methodological expertise and develops innovative approaches to knowledge management and organizational learning. The intern will work closely with the 'Innovation, Learning, Knowledge' competence center, which focuses on enhancing knowledge sharing and learning processes in a digitalized and interconnected world. The role involves supporting the development of consulting services for GIZ projects worldwide, particularly in the areas of knowledge sharing, organizational learning, and innovative cooperation models. The intern will be expected to engage in various tasks that contribute to the enhancement of knowledge management practices within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Supporting the development of consulting offerings for GIZ projects related to knowledge sharing, knowledge management, and organizational learning.
Assisting in the creation of knowledge products and the development of methodological approaches, such as best practices, debriefing formats, learning videos, how-to guides, and workshop templates.
Conducting independent analysis and scouting for innovative knowledge management approaches and deriving operational recommendations.
Managing community engagement for a company-wide network focused on knowledge management and organizational learning, including writing posts, presentations, and connecting with other communities of practice.
Conceptualizing (digital) learning and exchange formats, such as peer learnings, expert insights, and workshops, providing technical support and documentation.
Preparing and moderating events, team meetings, and workshops.
Contributing to the ongoing development of the company's knowledge management system, particularly in structuring taxonomies, optimizing processes, and developing topics.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a completed undergraduate degree in social sciences, communication, business administration, humanities, or business informatics, or have a relevant vocational qualification. Ideal candidates will have engaged with development work in developing and emerging countries during their studies. A strong interest in communication, digitalization, learning processes, and innovations is essential, along with a willingness to delve into methods such as knowledge sharing, peer learning, strategic knowledge management, and organizational learning. Candidates should be able to work independently, adapt quickly to new tasks, and thrive in hybrid teams that operate flexibly under time pressure. The ability to convey complex information clearly and understandably is crucial.
Educational Background: A completed undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, communication, business administration, humanities, or business informatics is required. Candidates should ideally have experience or coursework related to development work in developing and emerging countries.
Experience: Candidates should have some experience in research, document management, and information systematization. Familiarity with MS 365 applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams) is essential, and a willingness to learn new IT systems and technologies is expected.
Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory. Additional language skills in Spanish or French are considered advantageous.
