Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Assistant will undertake various responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting senior staff with service contracts, preparing requisitions and service entry sheets in UMOJA, updating requisition statuses, reviewing cost estimates for budget formulation, and monitoring budget allocations. The incumbent will maintain a comprehensive database of requisition details, purchase orders, and delivery actions, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Additionally, the Logistics Assistant will manage logistics plans, monitor the movement and delivery of assets, and maintain records of procurement thresholds. The role involves coordinating consumables and spare parts, managing supply requisitions, and ensuring the maintenance of accommodations and facilities. The incumbent will also assist in data collection, preparation of presentations, and familiarizing new staff with UN guidelines and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A first-level university degree in a relevant field may reduce the required work experience. The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in logistics operations or a related area. Candidates with a first-level university degree may qualify with three years of experience. Desirable qualifications include experience in aviation, airport operations, and facilities management, as well as knowledge of the geographical region of operations.

Experience: The Logistics Assistant must have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in logistics operations or a related area.
