Job Overview:
The (Associate) Investment Officer position is pivotal within the Infrastructure and Natural Resources (INR) sector of IFC, which is a key strategic priority for the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire deal cycle, from origination to portfolio management, with a specific focus on building IFC's infrastructure portfolio in Mumbai or New Delhi. This role requires the development of a robust pipeline of investment opportunities in South Asia, leveraging market trends and sector knowledge. The officer will work collaboratively with country managers and officers to devise strategies that align with client needs and sector dynamics. The position also involves evaluating and structuring transactions, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to foster investment opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the (Associate) Investment Officer include: developing a strong pipeline of investment opportunities in South Asia; supervising a proportional number of projects; mentoring junior staff; collaborating with country managers to develop strategies; evaluating and structuring new transactions; reviewing business opportunities and synthesizing information for decision-making; creating innovative financial structures for complex transactions; leading negotiations and documentation; building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners; coordinating with colleagues to add value to client businesses; and anticipating future opportunities in markets and sectors to grow the infrastructure business.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MBA or equivalent degree along with 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in investment or corporate banking, project finance, infrastructure project development, and equity investing. A thorough understanding of economic and commercial trends, investment environments, and industry drivers is essential. The candidate should demonstrate execution capacity in leading infrastructure projects from development to financial closing, possess strong analytical and financial modeling skills, and have the ability to build client relationships and networks. An appreciation for legal, technical, environmental, and social considerations in infrastructure projects is also required, along with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an MBA or an equivalent degree. This advanced degree should be complemented by substantial professional experience in relevant fields such as investment banking, project finance, or infrastructure development, ensuring that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the complexities of the role.

Experience:
