Job Overview:
The Senior Investment Officer will play a pivotal role in overseeing IFC's venture capital investment activities in South Asia, particularly focusing on disruptive technologies. This position requires a strategic leader who will not only manage existing investments but also spearhead new initiatives and partnerships that align with IFC's mission. The officer will work closely with various stakeholders, including startups, investors, and development partners, to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. The role demands a proactive approach to building relationships and facilitating connections that can lead to successful investments and collaborations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Investment Officer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships within the venture ecosystem across South Asia, including early to growth stage startups and various investors. Key responsibilities include leading business development efforts, conducting due diligence, negotiating and structuring transactions, and making strategic direct venture investments. The officer will also manage existing portfolios, represent IFC on boards of portfolio companies, and engage in market creation initiatives to foster tech innovation. Additionally, the officer will represent IFC at internal and external events, enhancing the organization's strategic positioning in the disruptive technology space.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 10-12 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5-8 years specifically in venture capital or private equity. A strong background in investment banking or corporate development is also beneficial. The ideal candidate will have significant transaction experience, particularly in sectors such as Fintech, health, e-logistics, edtech, and enterprise software solutions. Strong analytical skills, experience in negotiating complex equity transactions, and a robust network among financial and strategic investors in emerging markets are essential.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree is required for this position, with a preference for an MBA from a leading international institution. This educational background will provide the necessary analytical and financial skills needed for the role.

Experience:
The position requires extensive experience in venture capital or private equity, particularly within South Asia or emerging markets. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing investments and facilitating exits, as well as experience serving on boards of investee companies or operational roles in venture-backed firms.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
