Job Overview:
The Programme Support and intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Communications Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the UNRSF's initiatives and communications efforts. The intern will assist in the Call for Proposals process for 2024, which involves screening proposals, managing databases, and compiling information for reports. The intern will also draft articles and briefing notes to raise awareness about the global road safety crisis, contributing to outreach communications. Additionally, the intern will support various events, campaigns, and projects organized by the UNRSF, including social media activities and project management tasks. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic international organization while contributing to meaningful work that impacts road safety worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the Call for Proposals process for 2024, including screening proposals and managing submission databases.
  • Compiling information for the Call for Proposals report and performing related tasks.
  • Drafting articles, briefing notes, and other outreach communications to enhance visibility of road safety issues.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of events, campaigns, and projects organized by the UNRSF.
  • Supporting social media activities related to the UNRSF's initiatives.
  • Compiling, tracking, and updating project contributions to the Fund's logical framework.
  • Assisting in the preparation and execution of workshops, events, and meetings hosted by the Secretariat.
  • Supporting project management activities, including monitoring and project closing processes.
  • Conducting background research and communication with partner agencies to develop strategic partnerships. 1
  • Managing databases of project information and maintaining accurate records. 1
  • Facilitating internal and external communications with project stakeholders. 1
  • Coordinating meeting schedules and drafting meeting minutes. 1
  • Performing other duties as requested by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
  • No prior working experience is required, but training, education, or skills should benefit the UN during the internship.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Basic understanding of project and document management principles and event facilitation.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to propose effective solutions. 1
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate school programme or in the final year of a first university degree programme. Experience:
