Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator is a pivotal role within the SRRPF, responsible for facilitating effective and efficient grants management, compliance, and partnership coordination at the axis level. This position oversees the entire grants lifecycle, providing guidance to fund recipients and ensuring adherence to donor regulations and SRRPF standards. The Grants Coordinator will work closely with fund recipients in the Central Darfur – Wadi Sila axis, necessitating a strong network and proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders in the region. The role requires a proactive approach to managing grant applications, monitoring compliance, and supporting fund recipients in their reporting and operational needs, ultimately contributing to the success of the SRRPF's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grants Coordinator will be responsible for managing due diligence and vetting processes for fund recipients, ensuring compliance with donor and SRRPF standards. This includes overseeing grant application processes, administering grant agreements and amendments, and communicating clearly with fund recipients regarding grants management, compliance, and reporting requirements. The Coordinator will monitor fund recipients’ compliance with grant conditions and the SRRPF Operations Manual, raising potential risks of non-compliance to the Grants and Partnership Manager. Additionally, the role involves monitoring grant implementation, following up with fund recipients on the timely submission of financial and narrative reports, and recommending adaptations to requirements to facilitate local compliance. The Grants Coordinator will also ensure that fund recipients have access to necessary tools and guidance, maintain detailed records of grants, facilitate review meetings, and support the Fund Management Unit in mapping the stakeholder landscape at the axis level.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in grants management within the international humanitarian, development, or peacebuilding sectors. A university degree in international development, business administration, political science, or a related field is required. Certifications in grants, partnership, or project management are considered advantageous. Proven expertise in working with institutional donors such as FCDO, EU, ECHO, USAID, and UNHCR is essential, along with a strong understanding of donor regulations and compliance. The ability to work closely with partners, particularly local organizations and civil society, is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and adapt to complex environments, as well as effective communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders in the Darfur - Wadi Sila region.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in international development, business administration, political science, or a related field. Additional certifications in grants management, partnership management, or project management are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in grants management, specifically within the international humanitarian, development, or peacebuilding sectors. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing grants and working with institutional donors, demonstrating their ability to navigate complex compliance and reporting requirements effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, fluency in Arabic, also both spoken and written, is necessary to effectively communicate with fund recipients and stakeholders in the region.
Additional Notes: The position offers a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension, contingent upon funding and performance. It is categorized under the Non-Management Band/G1 level. The role is open to both expatriate and national candidates. The anticipated availability for this position is May 1, 2025, and the duty station can be in Nairobi, Kenya, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, or Darfur, Sudan. The reporting line for this position is to the Partnerships and Grants Manager.
