Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on the project 'Promotion of Economic Participation of Women in Eastern Sudan', which aims to strengthen the socio-economic resilience of refugees and residents in host communities, particularly women. The project promotes gender-sensitive, employment-oriented training and educational opportunities, as well as tailored services such as life skills training and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support. Additionally, it empowers local women's organizations to better advocate for their interests. Interns will gain hands-on experience in development cooperation within a fragile context, contributing to various research activities and supporting project implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will engage in a variety of tasks including: familiarizing yourself with development cooperation in a fragile context; conducting research on various topics such as the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus, cash-based assistance, empowerment, and gender-based violence; assisting in communication with relevant stakeholders, including international NGOs; writing various texts and contributions, as well as creating presentations and publications; supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts, including reporting; preparing and conducting internal and external meetings and events; and assisting the project team with daily operational tasks such as organizational duties and minute-taking.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be enrolled in a degree program in political or social sciences, peace and conflict studies, or a related field relevant to international development cooperation, with a preference for those in their fourth semester or higher. A master's degree is advantageous. Relevant international experience in development cooperation, such as internships, is preferred, along with regional knowledge of East Africa. Proficiency in both German and English, both spoken and written, is required, while knowledge of Arabic is considered a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, are essential. Candidates should demonstrate analytical, structured, goal-oriented, and independent working styles, as well as proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program, ideally at least in their fourth semester. A master's degree in a related field is preferred, indicating a higher level of academic achievement and understanding of the complexities involved in international development.

Experience:
Relevant experience in the field of development cooperation is essential, particularly through internships or volunteer work. Familiarity with the socio-economic context of East Africa is advantageous, as it will enhance the intern's ability to contribute effectively to the project.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English is mandatory, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Knowledge of Arabic is considered beneficial and may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and communities.
