Job Overview:
The intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Communications Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Knowledge Project, a joint initiative between UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Arab States and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation. The intern will assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms, manage social media accounts, and monitor the reporting system of the knowledge portal. This position is designed for individuals interested in communications, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, and social media management, particularly in the context of sustainable development and knowledge dissemination in the Arab States region. The intern will contribute to various initiatives aimed at promoting knowledge societies and policies, including the FutureSkills4All initiative, which aims to reskill and upskill 6,000 learners. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to enhance the project's online presence and outreach efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: managing social media accounts and creating appealing posts, visuals, infographics, and videos in both Arabic and English; implementing a social media strategy to support the Knowledge Project’s communications objectives; creating and managing social media ads on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn; staying updated on social media trends and best practices; monitoring the reporting and analysis system of the portal and social media marketing tools; managing and maintaining content on the Knowledge4All portal and mobile application; and performing any other substantive tasks as requested by the Project.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program in communications, graphic design, marketing, digital marketing, media studies, journalism, social sciences, or a related field; be in the final academic year of a first university degree program; have recently graduated with a relevant university degree; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program. Relevant previous experience is a plus, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and social media. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Premiere, and Google Analytics is also advantageous.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a background in communications, graphic design, marketing, digital marketing, media studies, journalism, social sciences, or a related technical field. The internship program is open to those who are currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree program, in their final year of undergraduate studies, or recent graduates who can start the internship within one year of graduation.

Experience:
While relevant previous experience is considered a plus, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in the development field and possess skills in social media management and content creation. Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics will be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English, both oral and written, is required for this position. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not necessary for the assignment.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid, and a stipend will be provided to cover basic daily expenses if the intern is not financially supported by any institution or program. The stipend amount will be determined based on the rates published yearly by the OHR Policy and Compensation Unit. The internship may be part-time, and arrangements will be prorated accordingly.
